What is it?
The hummingbird project, in brief, is TotalRewind.com's development and production side. Its develoment side is aimed at pioneering and extending multimedia technologies for the Christian media industry. Meanwhile its production side will create video games and movies with content that all of the following:


All this will take place with beside the parallel effort that brought you to this site, TotalRewind.com. TotalRewind.com can be viewed as one of the first Hummingbird Project projects. It was designed to establish a distributed online community of like-minded indiviuals and orginizations to provide support, share resources, and maintain objective oversight and accountability.

Superhero
(comedy/drama 60min treatment of 120min content) A very funny movie with a powerful message that could change your life! We are planning on unvailing this at the SAICFF Film Festival later this year. Meanwhile, we're keeping this one very hush-hush until then, so you'll just have to wait.

SCHEDULED RELEASE: 9/06 STATUS: On hold, due to writers block.

Pirates of the Prairie
(adventure 60min treatment of 120min content) Not much to say without giving away the plot. What I can say is a boy and his brother discover that real life is the real adventure and a boys real hero is his father!

SCHEDULED RELEASE: 9/06 STATUS: Looks like it will probably will trump Superhero for the sept release.

The True Meaning of Christmas
(comedy, approx 60min) Just in time for Christmas! Join two brothers, the prefectionist David and his lazy brother Sol on their zany adventure to put on a Christmas play in less than two weeks. The topic of their pageant? "The True Meaning of Christmas" -- something that neither of them has even the slightest clue about... but they have a plan to overcome this... with the help of high explosives!

SCHEDULED RELEASE: 12/05 STAUS: editing

Shadetree 3D
This is a project to develop low-cost 3D design hardware for Christian filmmakers who don't have a spare $50,000.00+ USD laying around. (Check your couch cushions to be sure, but I think that includes most of us.) This will include at least one flavor of both 3D digitizing and MOCAP (motion capture) hardware lead in/tie in to MediaBoot (below).

SCHEDULED RELEASE: no time soon STAUS: currently working with homemade cylindrical scanning device (if it works, will be released as free DIY project). For mocap attempting to use *sweet* optical time-domain reflectflectometry. This would be released as a product, not project. Current choice of optical media (nylon) stinks though. Don't want glass. Thinking, polystyrene? (has a convenient index of refraction) Also looking at software-derived solutions for both.

MediaBoot
A (set of?) bootable CD designed to ship with a fast, expandable, full-meal-deal, pro solution for backyard filmmakers with no money. This guy will sport: firewire cams, pro non-linear editing, blue/green screen technology, clever "AfterEffects" style effects (plus easy expandability to write your own), 3d modeling software, distributed network number crunching, movie logisics plannning software, audio editing suite, dvd production, all the software "plug-ins" you can handle, and anything else we can cram onto the disk. We have a clever plan where we expect it can be fully functional in less than a year, won't touch a byte on your harddrive, and cost less than $50 USD!

Biblix
Derived from MediaBoot technology -- An "enhanced"/bootable CD and/or DVD containing Bible study software suite and audio Bible for missionary work in the 10/40 window. Again, won't touch the harddrive, so the authorities will never know you even ran it. (Good idea, but still need to check out regional viability. If no PC's or CD players in the area, then never mind.)

The Story of Samson
We'd say more, but we don't want to spoil the surprise. Needless to say, this animated comedy will truly have the Philisitines in your neigberhood fleeing in panic!

Genie
A typical "genie and the lamp" story, with a very atypical twist. This is a very interesting one. It may get pushed up.
