The Motto
Our motto is "repent,rewind,redeem". This being a summary of the overall journey this movement must undergo.

1. First, to repent. In terms of collective spiritual warfare: To repent of being asleep at the post and allowing so much ground to be lost in the media arts. Not only have we collectively failed to produce any rival material, but we must also [u][i]personally[/i][/u] repent of supporting -- even reveling in -- this ungodly content! In short, to repent of refusing to change the world, and instead allowing the world change us.
   
2. To rewind. If we are truly to create a new movement we need to pause for a moment and consider the foundation we lay. Will it be based on the foolish, faulty worldview we've always known? Or can we stop, rewind back to the beginning, and uncover the real motives and reasons behind our art? Like in spring cleaning, we must empty the attic completely, and then carefully decide what goes and what stays.
   
3. Finally to redeem. Only once we have turned away from our own folly, and carefully examined the lay of the land... Only then can we pick up a hammer and get down to business. It will take a lot of thankless toil, a lot Christian brotherhood, and a whole lot of prayer, but if we persevere we will succeed! We will leave our grandchildren a new industry. A redeemed industry!

The Model
The model we envision is is captured by the following graphic:

Where the three numbered stages have the following meanings:

1. Represents the status quo. It represents the impact of those bold Christians working within the entrenched system, (for instance Christians in Hollywood). It also represents those items made BY Christians, FOR Christians. Either way, the Christian impact on the world at this level is minimal.
   
2. Represents those items created for the secular world at large -- not overtly Christian, but with a proper underlying worldview replacing standard one. (Namely, neo-marxism with a side of postmodernism.) norm.
   
3. Represents items that are more evangelical in nature and are designed to challenge misconceptions and promote truth, beauty, and goodness.

Research & Development
Research by TotalRewind.com is taking place under a sub-project called "The Hummingbird Project". This is the research and test bench for any and all new means of equipping the Christian film industry. It will include DIY (Do It Yourself) projects, business plans, instructional material, software and hardware, and any related spin offs. Of course, all research will be released free or nearly free (only to cover production costs) to the Christian industry at its discretion. In parallel Hummingbird will be producing items of its own to provide testing/proof-of-concept, and to help establish the industry.

From a business standpoint, the ultimate plan is to spin off Hummingbird into its own production studio, shepherd up the next studio, spin it off, and so on. Thus, TotalRewind becomes not only an equipper to the entire industry, but also a disciple-maker as well.

Getting Involved
The most important way you can get involved in TotalRewind.com is (you don't hear this often) [u]not[/u] money. Though certainly appreciated, its about last on the list:


The most important thing you can do is to get involved in the online discussion and classified ads. The main goal here is to forge an industry -- a community even -- where we can teach and admonish one another. Where fellowship, discipleship, and free exchange of ideas can take place. The best way to help TotalRewind.com is to use it actively!

The second most important way to help is to bring other people onboard. (Don't feel bad about letting that "invitation code" out! The more the merrier!) Again, its all about community. Somebody once observed a tiger could easily kill a lion... but five lions would beat five tigers. The reason? Lions work together.

A (distant) third way is to perhaps lend some of your expertise to The Hummingbird Project. As with most research there are a lot more ideas than there are hands to work on them! Just send a message to me (the user "K" on the board) if you want to help out, and what kinds of things you can (and want to) do.

Statement of Faith

• We believe in absolute Truth. To say less is to live in simple, foolish denial.
• We believe the The Bible is the only infallible (and therefore absolutely accurate and relevant) source for that Truth.
• We believe natural man deliberately lives in denial of that Truth, because it points to his sinfulness.
• We believe this sinfulness is universal to everybody and absolutely damning to each one.
• We believe that only through Christ's atoning death on the cross is man completely cleansed from this punishment for sin (namely, Hell).
• We believe therefore that the punishment of Hell is very real and the only means of escaping it is to accept, by faith, the finished work of Jesus, Christ on the cross.
• We believe His sacrifice, in providing a total cleansing from sin, has re-enabled personal relationship between God an Man. Specifically, this paves the way for the permanent indwelling of God's own Holy Spirit!
• The presence of the Holy Spirit continually points to the fulfillment of God's Law and empowers us to act on it. With His help we are now able to walk in a new life -- no longer one of sin, but now one of righteousness -- that God may be glorified in us, His beloved creation.

• That whatever arises that disputes the Bible is, by definition, wrong.
• That beauty, truth, hope, love, bravery, joy, peace, perseverance, self-sacrifice and other noble traits are good, and must always be portrayed as good.
• That jealousy, selfishness, murder, slander, lewdness, disrespect, and other depraved things are evil, and must always be portrayed as evil.
• Everyone was created for those good things of holiness, and not for a single one of these evil things of Satan.
• That the universe is a kingdom and so there are proper and established authorities in all walks of life. It is impossible to disrespect any personal authority without also disrespecting the Ultimate Authority, God.
• That love is the ultimate, overriding good in life. To Gods love we owe our very eternity! [Romans 5:8]
